Spelling and Vocabulary
Quizzes

Regular spelling and vocabulary quizzes are essential if you're really serious about improving your vocabulary or winning a spelling bee. Ideally, the quizzes should not only make use of word-definitions, but should also give you example sentences that use the word, as well as letting you hear pronunciations.

It's not easy to find quizzes like that on the web, so I was on the verge of creating some myself, when I stumbled upon a terrific resource...

The quality of these quizzes is excellent, and they are completely free! Why? Because the organization who makes them available also offer an online spelling and vocabulary subscription service, so this is a neat way for them to advertise. But you don't have to part with a cent just to do their quizzes, right?

NOTE Having said that, I actually use the subscription service, and it is outstanding. If you do decide you'd like to try it, here's where you can check it out with a free 10-day trial. I've negotiated a cheaper price for all visitors to Word-Buff.com too. Just remember to enter the tag wordbuff between the 'Send an email copy to' and 'Country' fields, and the price will suddenly drop! Sorry I can't do the same for your grocery bill ;-)

Ok, let's get going with those free quizzes I was telling you about. Just click the banner below, and when the next screen displays, click the TAKE A PRACTICE QUIZ! button. It's all self-explanatory from there...

WordCup

Pretty impressive don't you think?

And remember, this quiz is updated weekly, so come back for more when you've got some time to kill.
