MEPHISTOPHELIAN

by John Albers

Adjective. Derived from the name of the demon sent to tempt Faust in the eponymous work by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. Meaning devilishly clever, diabolical, infernal, or evil.

It's a cool word because the character is sufficiently well-known for the sounds to elicit an ominous feeling of trepidation without quite being able to place it, thus creating sufficient curiosity in the reader to know more.
