Looking up a word after a challenge
I challenged a word and it was found to be incorrect. Is the person that lost the challenge technically allowed to then look up the correct word for future reference?
Hi - I'm afraid the answer here is an absolute NO ;-) There is no consulting of the dictionary during a Scrabble game, except to adjudicate a word. In a real tournament, a third party looks up the word (or more likely uses an adjudication program) so that neither player gets to open a dictionary at all.

Go on. Tickle my whiskers ;-)
Test Yourself! This selection comes from an impressive vocabulary program I started playing around with a year or so ago. It's based on a huge dictionary of 150,000 words taken from all the 'big name' vocabulary courses and exams. You can check it out here
